Pocket Dynamite is a blog that explores different theories in philosophy and science in a nonsensical way. Curious about the mysteries of the universe and what it all means? Let us playfully provoke thought and give disorder to the order of what we know.
The name Pocket Dynamite was a nickname given to me by my parents when I was a small child. I was pocket sized, significantly smaller than my peers, and when I found myself in an upsetting situation, the typical response was explosive anger. Almost always, the 'explosiveness' was a response to the chaos and unfairness of life. I always wondered why 'bad' things happened and why people had to suffer. I became increasingly angry at the world the more I began to learn that bad things can't always be avoided. I grew from a child that would lash out at those who were unjust and unkind, to a young adult who ran with a tunnel vision for the good things life had to offer.
Recently, facing a series of health challenges, my physical abilities and cognitive functions declined, taking mental health on a downward spiral along for the ride. Experiencing both physical and psychological pain, I began to ask myself similar questions and became obsessed with finding answers. The only conclusion that provided comfort was to accept life exactly as it is, naturally chaotic. What is in a perpetual state of disorder can never be given true order.
The name is a small reflection of my roots, and the journey that led me here. In a relentless pursuit to heal and improve cognitively, physically and psychologically, it is cathartic. It serves as a reminder that anything and everything is possible. No matter how big the explosion, the dust always settles.
It seems natural to think and wonder about the meaning and purpose of life, the universe and everything else in between. That is exactly what goes on here!
PocketDynamite was started specifically and simply, to achieve three things. First, to provide an outlet for the questions and thoughts that come to mind. Second, to improve written and articulation skills through translating concepts of thought into written text. Third, to expand imagination and knowledge through playful experimentation, by considering mishmash topics that on occasion, are wrongly infused.
